CONSUMABLE
Nozzle Guide
The cutting nozzle is the most frequently replaced consumable in fiber laser cutting. Proper nozzle selection and maintenance are critical for cut quality.
Nozzle Selection Guide
| Material Thickness | Recommended Nozzle Diameter | Application |
|---|---|---|
| 1-3mm | 1.2-1.5mm | Thin sheet cutting |
| 3-8mm | 1.5-2.0mm | Medium plate |
| 8-16mm | 2.0-2.5mm | Thick plate |
| 16-25mm | 2.5-3.0mm | Heavy plate |
Nozzle Maintenance
- Inspect before each shift — Check orifice roundness and cleanliness
- Clean with alcohol — Remove debris using ultrasonic cleaning
- Replace immediately — If orifice shows any deformation or discoloration
- Torque specification — Tighten to 3-5 Nm; overtightening causes thread damage
ENGINEERING TIP
Nozzle life optimization: A clean, undamaged nozzle can last up to 16 hours at 3kW power levels. At 10kW+, expect 6-8 hours maximum. Always keep pre-inspected spare nozzles at the machine to minimize downtime during replacement. Track usage hours per nozzle to establish your own replacement schedule.
